to take office : 주로 대통령, 새 정부, 고위 공무원에게 씀! 

• The new president will take office next Monday.
  (신임 대통령은 다음 주 월요일에 취임할 예정이다.)
• She took office as the country’s first female prime minister in 2022.
  (그녀는 2022년에 그 나라 최초의 여성 총리로 취임했다.)

 

일반 직장에서의 직책 변화에는 잘 사용되지 않아. (예: "그는 새로운 팀장으로 취임했다" → ❌ "take office" 대신 "assume the role", "take on the role" 등이 더 적절함.)
비공식적인 자리 에서도 잘 쓰이지 않아. (예: "그는 동아리 회장으로 취임했다" → "He took on the role of club president.")
