이삭이 감옥에 가고, 일본 순사들은 기독교 가족들 감시하고....흑흑... 돈이 부족하여, 어쩔 수 없이 Sunja는 '김치 아줌마'가 되겠다고 자처함. 경희는 요셉이 너무 반대해서, 집에서 김치를 만드는 것만 돕고, 나가서 파는 건 Sunja가 다 맡아서 함. 처음에는 자리도 못잡아서 끙끙댔지만, 가족을 먹여 살려야겠다는 일념으로 김치사세요!! 하며 씩씩하게 장사를 함. 내가 이걸 다 팔기 전까진 집에 안가겠다! 라고 다짐을 하면서. 그렇게 사업은 번창해나감. 

어느 날은 김창호라는 사람이 와서 자기가 식당을 하는데, 여기 김치가 맛있다고 소문났으니 자기한테 다 팔 수 없냐고 함. 구하기 어려운 배추도 자기는 구할 수 있으니 만들어줄 수도 있냐고 함. 뭐야뭐야!!하며 웬떡!!! 하며 걱정되는 마음과 설레는 마음으로 김치를 들고 식당에 찾아감.
